“Teaching Sisters of St. Dorothy, Daughters of the Sacred Hearts” in India

Silver Stars Shines…

My Soul glorifies the Lord, My spirit rejoices in God my Saviour”

5th January 2019 was a great and memorable day for all of us. By the Grace of God we, 10 sisters, Sr. Biji Mulackal, Sr. Dolly Paradiyil, Sr. Elsy Kannempilly, Sr. Elizabeth Mangalath, Sr. Jancy Velikkunnel, Sr. Jaseentha Veleparambil, Sr. Mercy Kuriyickal, Sr. Mini Parappuram, Sr. Rejeena Kakkattu and Sr. Suni Kizhakkedath, celebrated the Silver Jubilee of our first commitment to the Lord. Together we thank and Praise the Lord for His unfailing love and faithfulness for each of us. Sr. Elsy Kannempilly who is in Italy could not be with us physically but she joined spiritually with us.

With Mother Mary we thank the Lord God Almighty for His boundless love and blessings in these 25 years of our religious life. On 10th June 1990 we left our homes and reached in Archana Convent with an intense desire to serve God. After a long time of formation and reflections we commit ourselves to the Lord through our First Profession on 8th February 1994. Then after various community and Apostolic experiences of life and studies on 11th January 2000 we commit our Final Vows. Now we are doing our services in different states of India such as Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Kerala. We take this opportunity to first and foremost thank God almighty for his providence and benevolence which has enabled our life to respond to His call these 25 years.

We began our spiritual preparation one year back. As a spiritual renovation for the Jubilee celebration we had gone to a Benedictine Ashram in Idukki, Thopramkudi for 10 days prayer from 1st to 10th November 2018. A serene and a quiet place to pray and it was a great opportunity to evaluate the 25 years of our religious life. As an immediate preparation we make a day of recollection as a thanksgiving prayer to the Lord for the gift of vocation on 3rd January and the community is blessed us with a prayer service on the day before the celebration. We remembered with grateful hearts and pray for all who supported and guided us in our formation and the superiors who guided during the past 25 years. Together we praise and thank God for his faithfulness, kindness, love and mercy towards each one of us.

The day of Jubilee celebration was most colorful and memorable. The thanks giving Eucharistic Celebration was held at 10.30 am presided over by Mar Jose Puthenveettil, auxiliary bishop of Ernakulam-Angamlay Archdiocese. Our dear parents, family members, relatives and friends were present for the celebration and their presence brought us immense joy. Followed by the Eucharistic procession in the beginning of the Holy Mass Sr. Biji Mulackal, the Provincial Superior welcomed all. After the holy Mass, there was a felicitation gathering arranged by our sisters with colorful cultural extravaganza. At the conclusion, Sr. Mini Parappuram thanked everyone on behalf of the jubilarians for the efforts that were taken to have a meaningful celebration for all of us. It was followed by a delicious lunch arranged for the jubilarians and all the participants.

We are very happy grateful to our congregation and proud of our religious vocation in this institute. We got so many opportunities to render our humble services in various apostolic sectors of our Congregation. With heart full of Joy and gratitude we remember our present Mother General Sr. Maria Teresa Pena, the former Mother Generals and Councilors, our Superiors, Mistresses, Spiritual Guides. Thank you for your valuable prayers, support and encouragement.

At this moment with the Psalmist we also pray from the bottom of our heart … “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple” (Psalm 27, 4). There is a saying of Rick Warren;

“Happy moment, Praise God Difficult moments, Seek God Quite moments, Worship God Painful moments, Trust God Every Moment, Thank God”. So…

Thank you LORD...
