“Teaching Sisters of St. Dorothy, Daughters of the Sacred Hearts” in India

Give thanks to the Lord, for, he has done marvelous things

19th May 2022

It was a joyful day for the Indian Province as Sr. Frenshy Maria Menachery and Sr. Anjana Kuttiparachel were saying their Perpetual YES to the Lord; and eight of our sisters - Sr. Beena Kakkanattu, Sr. Daisy Muttathottil, Sr. Ruby Paikkattu, Sr. Shaiji Valiyaparambil, Sr. Shiby Chollambel, Sr. Sindhu Pulikunnel, Sr. Sherly Edattukaran and Sr. Susy Panackachalil - were celebrating the Silver Jubilee of their First Commitment to the Lord. Prior to the jubilee celebration, the jubilarians attended ten days of retreat at Marthoma Sadan near Malayattoor run by the Carmilite fathers where St. Thomas left his footprints.

Moments of prayer service

These ten days of prayer provided us an ever-growing conviction of Christ’s boundless love for each one of us individually and moved us towards a more complete confidence and surrender. God’s compassionate words of love were a great source for us to renew ourselves spiritually and psychologically. We could fathom our nothingness and God’s immense blessings for us in these 25 years of our consecrated life.

Moments of prayer service

The sisters who were preparing for the final commitment have made six days of annual retreat at the Provincial House along with other sisters. Prior to the final profession, the sisters attended one year Theology course at Portiuncula - the FCC Generalate at Aluva and three months of intensive preparation thereafter. During these three months they were under the guidance of our Provincial Superior, Sr. Biji Mulackal. Sr. Suni was their incharge. During this time they attended various classes about our patron saints, Father Founder, and St. Bertilla, etc. It really enriched their hearts and their love towards our Congregation.

Perpetual YES and Jubilee celebration on 19th May 2022

Unceasing rain was threatening us on 19th May 2022 – the day of the final profession and the silver jubilee celebrations. But we trusted in the Providence of God and the motherly concern of our Heavenly Mother. The whole community gathered for the Morning Prayer and we recited Rosary and the chaplet of Divine Mercy. Marvelous was God’s intervention. The rain stopped and the smiling sun raised its head and Archana community became pleasant and joyful. Our hearts also became pleasant. It was really God’s work.

The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Rt. Rev. Mar Antony Kariyil - Archiepiscopal Vicar of Ernakulam - Angamaly Archdiocese, and the homily was given by Rev. Fr. Eby Eruvelikunnel CST. The Mass was followed by a short felicitation programme organized by the sisters themselves at Archana convent, Aluva.

We are so grateful to our God who walked with us and kept us as an apple of His eye so that none of us lost ourselves from His love. We also thank our superiors who helped us to grow in the love of the Sacred Hearts. We extend our sincere gratitude to our Provincial Superior, Sr. Biji Mulackal and all those who worked hard to make this day a beautiful one.
