Happy to be with you Lord…. We are yours…..

13th May 2020

“Your maker is your husband, the Lord of Hosts is His name, the Holy one of Israel is your Redeemer, the God of the whole earth He is called.” [Is. 54: 5]

May 13th 2020 is a remarkable, grace filled and historical day for the Dorotheans, especially for the Province of India, because two more little butterflies are added to the family of St. John Antony Farina during the season of COVID–19 pandemic. On this joyful and happy occasion, we thank God Almighty for His marvelous love.

After having good conviction and understanding of the vocation and call as Teaching Sisters of St. Dorothy, Daughters of the Sacred Hearts, on the feast of Our Lady of Fathima, Novice Sukanya Kakumanu did my visitation and First Profession and after having fell in love with Jesus, Sr. Lurdukumari Guvvala has made the Final Commitment to her Eternal Spouse by pronouncing the Holy Vows during the solemn Holy Mass, through the hands of the Provincial Rev. Sr. Biji Mulackal.

It was a great day in which we affirmed our everlasting togetherness with the Lord. The Province of India has been immersed in joy and gratitude to God for these precious gifts of religious vocations.

Novice Sukanya was in intense preparation in the novitiate during the canonical year under the guidance of Sr. Shiny Muttathottil and in the second year under the guidance of Sr. Ciby Cherusseril and in the guidance of the Provincial Rev. Sr. Biji Mulackal Sr. LourduKumari did an year-longed fruitful preparation in F.C.C. Generalate, Aluva as a preparation for the Final Commitment.

The Holy Mass was solemnly presided over by Rev. Fr. Francis Vattukulam sdb , Rector of Don Bosco College Aluva. The con-celebrants were his confreres Rev. Fr. Varghese Thannipara, the parish priest of Keezhmad and Rev. Fr. Joy Kaipananickal.

The Word of God was broken by Rev. Fr. Varghese and he reminded the greatness of our call in this era where the whole world is suffering due to COVID-19 Pandemic.

As Daughters of the Sacred Hearts, it’s our great privilege to have the Heart of Jesus and Mary as the model of love, compassion, mercy and tenderness. So, father inspired us to imitate both, the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary as the perfect models of our lives.

After the solemn Eucharistic banquet, the joyful celebrations continued with an agape and with arranged cultural programmes, we shared the joy of the day after the sunset. We Sr. Sukanya and Sr. LourduKumari are very grateful to our beloved Mother general Rev. Sr. Maria Theresa Pena and her Councilors and to our beloved Provincial Rev. Sr. Biji Mulackal and her councilors and to each and every one of the Dorothean family who helped us to fulfill our dream.

Our hearts are filled with joy so words are few. Thanking you all for what you are to us, we humbly request your precious prayers and support for our religious journey. O Holy spirit of Divine love, transform us in to the likeness of Jesus. Empower us to disregard the charms of the world as mere waste, and go towards our goal forgetting what has been left behind. Encircle us with your love. Amen.
